Logo
We selected the sandpiper as our logo because of our love of the ocean and its wildlife. The Western Sandpiper (Calidris mauri) that we use in our silhouette logo is referred to as a "peep," reflecting our Peeper(tm) trademark and website domain name. Although one of the smallest of sandpipers, this "peep" has a long range, migrating from Alaska to South America, paralleling the expansive products and services we provide, and the wonderful range of clients we enjoy.Top

Sandpiper Technologies is dedicated to working with researchers and seeing that new technologies are included in the expanding array of research tools.
We have expertise in these areas
- Optical-Configure cameras, lenses, fiber optics and other optics, integrating color and IR capabilities.
- Electro-mechanical-integrate electrical and mechanical engineering to develop elegant data gathering solutions.
- Electronic-Although not often visible from the outside, our equipment has sophisticated ultra-miniature integrated electronics for maximum performance and reliability. When timing mechanisms are needed to turn the equipment on and off at specific intervals, our circuits are specially designed to meet those needs.
- Remote power systems based on solar panels or fuel cells where no other power source is available or practical. Efficient voltage converters to match power supply with equipment requirements.
- Digital Video Recording systems.

John Christensen - CEO & Chief Technology Engineer
As Chief Technology Engineer, John is creative force behind all of the Sandpiper Technologies Inc. (STI) products. John has over 40 years' experience in design engineering. His work in U.S. Nuclear Submarine Program and the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) sharped his optical, electromechanical and electronics engineering skills. He has invented all of the custom electronics used in the STI product line.

Ann Christensen - CFO & Office Administrator
Ann has over 25 years' experience in business operations, marketing, finance and administration. She manages the administrative side of the Sandpiper operations, including the Equipment Grants Program and STI equipment rental fleet.

Robert Patrick - VP Marketing & Product Development
Robert brings over 21 years' high-tech industry experience to STI. He served in management, marketing and product development at Apple Computer, VA Linux Systems and several other Silicon Valley start-ups. As Marketing and Product Development VP he manages sales and marketing and provides guidance on product development and engineering. Robert also leads STI's emerging fuel cell product development and our law enforcement and military market development efforts.

Lisa Burrows - Electronics Technician & Customer Service Lisa has over 14 years' technical experience at LLNL, where she specialized in laser electro-optics. As Electronics Technician at Sandpiper for over five years, Lisa is instrumental in building and servicing the standard line of STI products, including Peepers and TreeTops. |

Elizabeth Daneman - Service Representative Elizabeth Daneman joins us as our first authorized TreeTop Peeper service representative. She became familiar with TreeTops while working as a biological technician at the Okefenokee NWR and has completed a rigorous certification with Sandpiper Technologies. Elizabeth is authorized to provide service to TreeTop 2, Cabled TT3 and Wireless TT4 users and is a welcome addition to our team as an independent service representative.
